Pretty Eyes

"Oh look at them pretty eyes"
Eyes that bear into your soul
Eyes that cry at night
Eyes that have seen the pain
Eyes that glisten in the light

"Oh what a beautiful smile"
Smile that hides my quivering voice
Smile that easily can turn to a frown
Smile that disappears when no one looks
Smile that lifts you when your down

"Your hair is so gorgeous!"
Hair that I want to rip out in rage
Hair that covers my eyes when I cry
Hair that hides the bruises on my face
Hair that is tangled with the lies

"You have such tiny hands!"
Hands that steadily slice away the pain
Hands that shake with the tears
Hands that make marks in the walls
Hands that take away the hurt

"You have a contagious laugh"
Laugh that hides my fears
Laugh that isn't sure of itself
Laugh that is afraid that you'll find the truth
Laugh that cannot fool me
