Die Like You Mean It

by Curing the Comon Cliche   May 17, 2008

Welcome to the set
You're the lead in this play
You know your lines of by heart
Broken heart words are what you'll say

You'll be acting out your death
How fitting to you now
Now, die like you mean it
We both know you know how

Was it you or do you blame him
You put that bullet in you head
Only reason he's lost a bit of sleep
Hmm, well, he's not alone in bed

Oh Dear Reader, do not fret
The gun was loaded from the start
Bullet to the brain
Exploded in your heart

Come now, you didn't know?
Sweetheart, you're already dead
You are what this play's about
Ghost with a bullet in her head

The closing bloody scene
Tragic lost-love play
Come on! Die like you mean it
You know exactly what to say

"I'm fine" is the first thing that popped into my head as i read this. i don't know why. if she's already dead, what's the point of lying about it?
