An Old Enemy Returns

by Juliet   May 18, 2008

The figure approaches
He dawns in my sleep
I rid of him once before
An old enemy returns

He has returned to
Haunt me in my dreams
Torture my soul
Until I scream

Before I was little
Young and innocent
Now I am a woman
An old enemy returns

Before I was scared
Alone, cold, and afraid
This time I know the truth
I know his true fate

This time around
He does not survive
He only lives to see
All his dreams drown

His wickedness and evil
Brought him to his doom
He is as strong as ever
An old enemy returns

But with a new age
Comes a new reason
A new reason to fight
A new reason to flee

I must fight him
I have a new cause
I can not allow one to suffer
From the pain he inflicts

His villainy does not scare me
His words, his style, or his wit
But the way he strides around
Watching all of your movements

He prays upon the hurt
Feasting upon their pain
His eyes glow evilly in the dark
Enough to drive one insane

He looms closer
Iron is his hand
Sharp as a claw
Bright as his eyes

His hooking shadow
Appears on the rock
The rain pouring down
Does not dare stop

I fear for the worst
But I know it will not come
At the end of dawns fall
An old enemy returns
