Tried to Make it True

Love is something that can not be explained or expressed with words but with actions and a certain look... But I am going to contradict myself and try anyway...

I fell in love with you against all the odds...
Even though I knew that our love would never last...
I tried to fool myself into thinking and believing our love was true...
But I knew then just as I do now that your love and heart was hers to have and keep...
and no matter what i told myself i always knew the truth...
That the love you shared with her was the one that was true...

I don't have to like it or say that I am ok...
But at the end of the day I know that I gave you a piece of my heart that will be yours forever...
I wish you all the happiness in this world even though I wished it was me
but I know that in a few years from now I will sit and look at our pictures and know
that the love I had for you was and always will be true...
