When Yesterday Goes Wrong

by BrokenREALiTy   May 20, 2008

The summer heat releases every sheltered fear--
starts with lust and ends with love (but does it ever last?)
Karaoke songs surround the laughs and feed the corny jokes,
(but nonetheless, our affection was kept alive)

[You looked at me with everlasting eyes and broken stares;
I swore to you I'd fix the pain with everything I had]
Bubble tea and frosty Starbucks kept our rapport calm,
(Nothing could tame the avid gazes that we shared)

Melt the walls that were built to protect the independent,
(You became the barriers that shielded me from any sudden harm)
Fervor winds kept us close together;
(but it was intimacy that tore us apart)

[[Nothing could protect me from you...]]
