This River Hath Run Dry

by Lakota   May 20, 2008

I never told you, but you figured it out,
The love in my heart is strong.
It was you, who I was meant for,
Always you all along.

But...

This river hath run dry,
The water flows no more
It will never met the other end,
The ever longing shore.

When the moment was right you sought me out,
Just to have a talk,
I hung on to your every word,
As I listened to you gawk.

But then you said the words girls fear
I hope this doesn't start a trend
But your words were few and simple
"I think we should just stay friends"

This river hath run dry,
The water flows no more,
I'm here alone, in sorrow, and pain,
On the ever lonesome shore.
