Who We Are

by Chino   May 21, 2008

Living in a time of hate and pain
In fact, for ages itâ??s been the same
Humans are selfish, always want to reign
I can not help it; some instincts can not be tamed

Itâ??s in our DNA, Its part of who we are
They said it will be ok if we accept this from the start
But of late, I tried to decrypt this stone wall
That lies beneath our skin, hiding what we saw

Generations of death and lessons
But none of which was taken in
We got to be patient to learn
What our ancestors seen and where they been

Tears within still cry sometimes
Of these and my horrid past
I wish I can lie sometimes about these visions I see
They may rise but Iâ??m glad they last

Because Iâ??m learning
Every time I see them pass
And I feel free and unconcerned for
Jus like a field of grass
