Our Week

by Dacey Flame   May 22, 2008

Hot/cold emotions run blood-like through me
Unchanging, though I think.
I falter. Switch. Picture it.
Just like you imagine it, like you hash it to me.
Invoked, this fairytale you've cooked up.
The me in your eyes will shy and hide
Climb to her hole for our week.
The me you missed and I kept from you
Will love it.
Has been counting the days and moments
Heightening and reworking
Arrangements, my plans.
Enticing your devotees.
Open your eyes, my love.
Look at me and how don't you see?
Partial devotion and love and care
But I have never stepped over the line
Thick and blue, the line of faith.
Have you been as perfect?
Our week is absurd through them.
So normal, natural, it's calling us.
This will work. This will.
Bleed us out to make us heal.
My boy, I'm bubbly with anticipation
You've instilled excitement in me for the summer.
How will I not long for hope
And how will I not long for you?
