For The Glory Of Love

by Dacey Flame   May 23, 2008

Close your eyes and breathe in
Let the deep blue water's awkward gurgle
Penetrate your ears
And force your thoughts to finally surface
Bringing your emotions to a boil
Allow yourself to remember
The warm hands on your back
Rocking you to a place far beyond
And freeing your love to fly
And settle itself in a fine dust
Upon other's hair and coats
Of dark gloom colors to show
How they feel about your ideas
And the light in your eyes is
Blue in the reflection from the water
Slowly fading, petering out
You glide your soft, fragile fingers
Along the icy surface and then press them
To your pale, taut cheeks
Draw one last sharp breath and
Spread your arms in anticipation
Open up and tremor the earth with you voice
Like an alarm in a perfect dream
To surprised and upturned faces in curiosity
You leap over the boundaries and
Fall hard upon the harsh slab of lake
And sink, with your own brown jacket;
Dress; and combat boots,
Laden with rocks for modest effort
You're still as the currents wash you away
Astonishing images take place above
As your mother calls desperate, all cards on the table
Shouting for her beloved baby-child
This shattered world has sickened your mind
And you left us warm and dry-
But drowning
A million souls drown in your sorrow
And your bodies soft thump upon sand.

Perhaps March?
