Sestina on the Moon

by Gabba Gabba Hey   May 23, 2008

The Moon disappears each night
as the sun moves up in the sky
is she frightened of the change
or merely skidding of her lost lover?

As the sun moves up in the sky
the bashfull moon closes her eyes
Merely skiddish of her lost love
she retreats into herself

The bashful moon closes her eyes
as her friends, the stars, try to comfort her
she retreats into herself.
a total eclipse of her hope

Her friends, the stars, try to comfort her
she can no longer hear them
a total eclipse of her hope
as the sun shows off to spite her

She can no longer hear them
as a tear slips down her face
the sun shows off to spite her
all she does is wait for night

As a tear slips down her face
the sun stops his parading
all she does is wait for ngith
while he sits, sad and ashamed

The stops his parading
and spreads his rays to comfort her
while he sits sad and ashamed
she looks up in shock

Spreads his rays to comfort her
they're joined hand in hand
she looks up in shock
love between polar opposites, hope is there

They're joined hand in hand
love between polar opposites, hope is there.

This is such a cool metaphor its brilliant the way you made the moon the girl and the sun the guy, and her being shocked when he reaches out to her - I love all the ideas!
