Poem to my teenage daughter

by gillian   May 23, 2008

When would you miss me
if i were to go
when would you notice
would you even know

no help with your choices
no nagging advice
no wearing your wardrobe
dosent that sound nice?

but someday without me
youll wish i was there

and not just to polish
or straighten your hair

i no that i bug you
but try make you laugh
i no im a nagger
i no i am naff

but i am important
and this you should know
cos im feeling lousy
and think i should go

i feel that im failing
in all that i try
dont know why im here
and this makes me cry

just one arm around me
a kiss on my cheek
a hug or a cuddle
about once a week

id feel that you loved me
and may raise a smile
and this may just stop me
from running a mile
