The Lies My Mother Told Me

by Mandy   May 24, 2008

Momma said I love you
You're just too young to see
But I chose not to believe
The lies my mother told me.

I'll be back for youone day
I'll miss you while I'm gone
These lies she kept telling
Just kept going on.

When she kissed me that last time
I shivered to her touch
Never could I imagine
To hate my mother this much.

I couldn't even from a tear
Because my anger was just so strong
I didn't need her anyway
I didn't need her all along.

The lullaby she sang me
Kept playing through my head
She's a traitor not a mother
I wished that she was dead

.....

Until my dream came true
On that cold, rainy night
When her life flashed before her eyes
In a stunning stream of light.

I never ot to say goodbye
Not once in all these years
But this time I couldn't hold back
As my eyes flooded with tears.
