Plank

by Molly May   May 24, 2008

Teeth of a hammer
Jam them up
Into this bleeding eye
Nails piercing
Splinters slicing
Rendered completely blind

Open and seeing a
World full of nothing
As blank as an empty canvas

Wrench out this plank
Do it quick
Before the wounds begin to heal

Fill my palette
Pour on the paint
Overwhelm my world until
I bend and break

Uncontrollable happiness
Seeping through
Dripping from this
Genuine smile
