Broken Vow

by Paralyzed   May 25, 2008

We'll take care of the old,
While nurturing the young,
I wonder if we saw,
That lie slip from the tongue.

We'll love our mother planet,
Give back what we take,
For surely we can recognize,
To not, is a mistake.

When our fellow man is crying,
Surely we will care,
Children won't scream out in hunger,
While we sit and stare.

We'll work together day to day,
Make life what it should be,
Not only for the ones we know,
But those we cannot see.

War won't wage at any cost,
Pride painted black with oil,
No more soldiers laying in,
The ground we love to soil.

Broken vows, line the sky,
They're burning in the sun,
Soon the light of day will show,
It cannot be undone.
