The Centipede

by The Joker   May 28, 2008

I am quite certain that I am going mad
in this tight air-lock that is my home
the candle is flickering
casting demons on the walls
the deed which I have commited
is slowly moving around
under the boards of my floor

A curious creature has pooped up on my desk
why a little centpede as big as my thumb
the antenna twitching this way and that way
standing on it's hind legs, moving it's arms
and why it did the most amazing thing

"Hello my dear man, how are you this evening?"
it said while taking a bow
never have I seen such a curious thing
the centipede stepped into the light
the black scales shining brightly on it's body
"I see you are quite distressed my dear fellow"
the centipede clicked with it's small legs
does it know about my horrid deed
"But sadly I must report you, no?"
as it shooks it's head

"Begone you beast"
I yelled as the book came down
on the monster of hell
the bug was no more
as it's body was crushed
I rushed into bed
the candle was out
and the darkness swelled in
all that was heard was the sound of my heart

The scrape is heard on the floor
as I could hear the boards move up
I shiver in my bed for what is to come
but the centipede is on the other side of my bed
"Now, now that was not nice my dear fellow man"
"Why don't you come down and see your deed"
he whispered, his antenna still as ice
I peered over my bed
the madness beating in my heart

The body is cold and lifeless
squeezed into the floor boards
the body is mine
cold and dead
paleless skin covering the smell
I screamed and screamed
when the centipede came out of it's mouth
"Bye bye my dear fellow"
