Divorce

by Brittany   May 29, 2008

The girl watches as he packs
and knows she cant bear the pain
she knows he's leaving for good,
and on her heart he leaves a stain.

she sits and watches the trucks pull up
not a single word being said
for sorrow fills her heart so full
she finds it impossible to leave her bed

he was her ambition, role model, most importantly her dad
but her mom says there better off
yet the tears still fill her eyes
and when she tries to stop him, she can only manage a cough

he's waving now, saying goodbye
from the window she screams, "remember to call!"
her heart is aching, wondering why she couldn't talk
her whole life takes a disturbing fall

divorce is the source of her pain
but her mom says he just played a game
he's all gone now, she's completely alone
knowing nothing will be the same
