Impossible dreams

Daddy what's my wedding going to be like without you?
every girl's wedding dream is
to walk down the aisle with her own daddy
the one who raised her
the one who helped mold her
the one who always held her heart since
the day she was born.
gone.
gone far far away
to another world
a world of absolute perfection
but still gone
away from his only little girl's wedding
not there to be proud of her
yes, she knows you would have been
proud of her, that is
her little girl's fantasy
gone
all because of ther father's death
no little girl's dream
you can't raise the dead
it's impossible
little girl don't cry
it's your wedding day
daddy would've been proud
don't create tears
you'll ruin your makeup
time to go
go walk down the aisle, daddy's girl
by yourself, your lonesome self
secretly wishing your daddy was here
just to share your last special moment
as a family of three,
before marrying off into a new family of two
as dayys girl walks down the aisle,
she holds back cries, sobs,
she just needs her daddy's hug
and his reassurance that everything's going to be ok
thinking about her fantasy
as she sees her future husband
she secretly goes into her world
the aisle seems like it is going on forever
it's supposed to go like this:
she takes her daddy's arm,
he whispers in her ear
"forever and ever my baby girl you'll stay"
the arm holding him shows that she can never be torn away from her father
his grasp on her as she is walking
he keeps whispering in her ear as they walk
little nothings from her past
"binky, i love you"
"cuddlebum you better come see me when you need some cuddlin'"
"if he so much as makes you cry binky, come to me and everything will be alright."
he grabs his little girl for the last time as an unmarried woman
kisses her goodbye
the butterfly kisses
and the ever famous huggie huggie kiss kiss
gives her to her future husband with a warning
"you hurt her, i'll kill you"
he says,
"don't worry sir, i would never think of it"
she comes back into reality
she's by herself
no one there to whisper to her
no one to kiss goodbye
she grabs her fiance's hand
she gets married without her father.
