The Barren Path

by LitxUpxWithxLife   Jun 3, 2008

The words that drip from your mouth, are the same as all the rest.
You told me it wouldn't be like that and now it's been put to the test.
Well looks like I've been fooled another time.
That's OK it only helps my rhythm and rhyme.
Gives me one more poem in this already tattered book.
Don't worry I'll already have left by the time you look.
I'll be walking down that familiar road of loneliness once more.
Back to the darkness, the anguish, the flames, and the gore.
Stupid me how could I think that you were the one.
When the times got hard you packed up to run.
It's OK I'll be alone in all this unshed-able misery.
Because I told you before, I'll be all alone for eternity.
My boots are destined to echo alone and unmatched.
Where my face is torn, bloody, and scratched.
Marred by the filth and cruelty humanity has always had.
Destined for a life alone cold, hungry, and sad.

Wow, excellent work. The rhythm in this poem was great as well as your emotions again. They shined through very nicely. :) The flow was perfect because you stuck with your rhyming... Which was absolutely amazing. Great job!! 5/5
