Outer Shell

by Four Letter Lie   Jun 4, 2008

You look at me,
You see what I've become.
I don't want to be who I am now,
I want to show you who I once was.

Hiding deep inside myself,
Only giving off small clues.
Look past my outer shell,
Then you'll see the real me.

Who I am now,
Is not who I always was.
I was once a free spirit,
Beautiful and alive.

If you could only see who I really am,
You'd understand.
It's hard for me to show myself,
Because even I don’t know who I am.
