My Secret

by Neme juste un jouet   Jun 4, 2008

Something subtle,
almost unnoticed by the naked eye.
but it's there, I promise you
regardless of how hard it is to find.
It's discomfort right beneath the skin,
a crawling sensation that lets you know
that the shame is about to begin.
tempted by dreaming and blinded by hope,
scratch the skin and watch it peel away
to reveal...
Sigh, I swear, this will always be the same.
It's so close to the surface,
yet no eyes glance its shadow
or dare reveal the obvious to the light of thought.
It is right there, I can feel it, it chokes
and strangles
and devoid life of an answer that would perhaps be
too damn sweet.
It is within the tangible reality but twists the reality of what is...
This desire, it is right there,
My sole secret:
something subtle,
almost unnoticed by the naked eye.
