Like rocks, meteors, and gum

by Kalee nichole   Jun 8, 2008

Like a rock rolling down a steep mountain
Busting off pieces of its rough edges as it smacks on its way down
Tumbling so much and so long
That its shiny and smooth when it finally reaches the ground

Like a meteor shooting directly from the sky
Getting hotter and hotter as it picks up speed
Crashing into the earth like a bullet
But finally cools off, draws attention, speculation, desire, worth and need

Like a wad of gum splatting to the floor
At first it looks gross, all shiny with spit and a lumpy shape
But as people walk all over it and the color fades to black
It looks like all the other gum, decorating the floor like polka dots…no longer dose it feel out of place

My heart is falling for you
And the journey down is rough
But like rocks, meteors, and wads of gum
My heart is strong enough
