You were so happy when i met you that warm, sunny day
I'm guessing God wanted an angel when you slipped away,
so he asked for you to go...He only takes the best you know.
This would be funny, if you were still here,
but you'll never be back and you're nowhere near.
I hope you found the closure that you so long craved
I'm sorry I didn't do enough, for you to be saved
But God will wait at those gates to take your hand
and with mine, your name will be written in the sand
the beach of my heart will hold your name forever
