Lovesick parasites

by Mia   Jun 10, 2008

Microscopic bacteria
Clinging
To the delicate remains of
Fungus on your lips
Flowering
Living mosses in the damp
Places of your mouth
And bloodsucking insect
Transmit sleeping sickness
Into your system
As ants deliver
Broken bits of apple candy
And inject sour poison
Into your blood stream
And the pulse suddenly starts to make beats
And rhythm falls in
Between your chest and hips
Writhing
Up up and down
On a swollen ground
As smooth skinned clusters
On wooden vines
Wrap around your ankles
And pull you in tighter
As the glaring stars
Lock you away
Forever
