Delusions

by JD   Jun 10, 2008

Her heart; a stone, broken.
Hardened, and it was his fault.
She would never love again;
or so she thought.

Maybe it was all a delusion.
Just her wounded hearts illusions.

Her eyes began to open to you.
blinded by the light;
she was unseeing.
But the tiny bit of color.
That was you.
She thought she would never feel;
never ache, never love again.
Nobody but you, the one who broke her.
It was only you, forever you.

Maybe it was all confusion.
Just her wounded hearts illusion.

The snowflakes melted in her hair.
Curling ever so slightly around her damaged face.
Shaken, she was.
Torn, and bent up.
nothing time couldn't fix.
you weren't there.
When she turned to you;
Released her burdens, she fell.
You didn't catch her.
you let her down.
Her heart; a stone.

But it was all a delusion.
Just my wounded hearts illusion.
