CHERISHED MEMORYS

by JOSEPH CARAVEO   Jun 12, 2008

DIAPERS AND BOTTLES, UP ALL NIGHTS
ENDLESS BARNEY RERUNS.BEAUTIFUL BABY
YOU GREW UP SO FAST
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL.

SUMMER DAYS, PIGGYBACK RIDES
FEEDING THE DUCKS AND SQUIRRELS
CARTOON WEEKENDS, COLORING BOOKS
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL.

SLUMBER PARTY'S WITH YOUR BEST FRIENDS
BIRTHDAYS AT CHUCKE CHEESE
SEEMED LIKE THE PARTY WOULD NEVER END
NOW CHERISHED MEMORIES
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL

FIRST DANCE IN JR. HIGH, NO, NOT
MY LITTLE GIRL, DADS HAVING NONE OF THAT
HOW I WANTED TO STAY BUT DROPPED YOU OFF
NOW I SIT BACK AND LAUGH
I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL

HIGH SCHOOL CAME AND WENT
AT THE TIME IT SEEMED SO SLOW
DANCES AND PARTY'S WITH FRIENDS
FOOTBALL GAMES,

AND A FATHER LEARNING TO LET GO

PERMITS AND TICKETS, TEACHING YOU TO DRIVE
WORDS CAN NEVER EXPRESS THE JOY I FEEL
AS YOU GREW UP BEFORE MY EYES

I KNOW ONE DAY HE WILL COME FOR YOU
ONE DAY HE WILL TAKE A KNEE
YOU'LL HAVE AN ANGEL OF YOUR OWN
ONLY THEN, WILL YOU UNDERSTAND
CHERISHED MEMORY'S
