NEVER ENDING GOODBYES

by JOSEPH CARAVEO   Mar 7, 2009

In all my life I've never felt such love
as if God reached down from the Heavens above
You moved me
A rock of bitter stone
Tainted by years
Never ending goodbyes
I was a mountain of pain before your time
You came along became my friend
I felt complete you let the Sunshine in
Cautious and leery, this I was
I heard it all before
Yet not like you
There was something different
Something strong and true
I could see it in your eyes
Hear it in your tone
Feel it in your touch
My heart found a home
For the first time ever
I believed in love
Surrender my heart
I couldn't give enough
Then just like that
The blink of an eye
You became Houdini
I was mystified
In all my life I've never felt such pain
As if God reached down and snatched today
You cut me, broke me, shattered my world
You never even said goodbye
The tears I shed, they weigh ton
The tear in my soul can't be undone
I'm tired of weeping tired of believing
Tired of this modern day LOVE
Whatever happened to the good old days
Back when love meant love
This 2st century game you play
Now call it love in a fast food day
No longer is there honor
No sacrifice made
No Truth, Respect or Loyalty
Love is now just getting laid
Maybe it's just me
I have an ancient heart
Ten thousand years I've waited
What could my sins have been
Was I the one that cast the lot
Did I plunge the spear
is this pain my destiny
I hear the curtain tear
Do I live just to die
Relive my pain
Never ending goodbyes
