I should have known

by Laura Allen   Jun 13, 2008

A friendship broken by three little word
Why did i think we could ever be anything more?
I wish I could turn back time to the day I said I love you
Cause before those words you were my best friend
But I cant do that
I cant go back and neither can you
So I guess Ill say goodbye right now
Cause this friendship couldnt survive
Those three little words
Do I wish you had never uttered them?
Hell no
Cause when I think about it
You meant more to me then
I loved hearing those three little words
I was just foolish enough to think you really meant them
Cause when I said them I meant every word
I still miss you and I probably always will
But she has your heart
I just wish Id known that then
Before I gave you the power to break mine

Some structure and some flow problems, they are obvious, if we are to judge only on that then this poem would fail...by most 'poets' standards.

I enjoyed this poem because I'm able to look past and see what was truly there. Poetry, it was a wonderful message, one that is filled with emotion and deeply thought out message.

I think that his poem is very well done. I enjoyed how much emotion was put into it, I enjoyed the work that you thought about.

I actually read one of your quotes and had to read a poem of yours. It's really quite good, I'm very glad I did now.

    5/5

    Yours Sincerely,
    Shaun Aka Dark Savior.
