REFLECTIONS OF MY MEMORIES

# 25
AUG 1989

HEY! IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE?
I SEE PEOPLE ALL AROUND,
BUT I DON'T FEEL LIFE, THEY MUST BE REFLECTIONS OF MY MEMORIES.
HEY! DOES ANYBODY REALLY CARE? I CAN SEE HER, I CAN FEEL HER,
BUT DOES SHE WANT ME? NO, I'M JUST A NIGHTMARE OF HER FANTASY.

HEY! DO YOU HAVE A LITTLE (TIME) TO SPARE?
NO, DID YOU THINK I WOULD BE WAITING THERE?
I LOOK INTO THE MIRROR, BUT DO I SEE ME?
NO, THAT'S NOT THE MAN THAT I USED TO BE.

WELL, THINGS DO (CHANGE,) AND SO CAN I

YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET, I'VE JUST BEGUN TO TRY.
I WENT LOOKING FOR YOU, BUT INSTEAD, I FOUND MYSELF,
HID FOR MANY YEARS, UPON A SHELF.

BURIED DEEP WITHIN, THE CLOSETS OF MY LIFE,
I SEARCHED, AND FOUND MYSELF, WITHOUT MY WIFE.
A WOUNDED INNER CHILD, GRIEVED INTO SUBMISSION,
I CAN NO LONGER LIVE WITH MYSELF IN THIS CONDITION.

THINGS ARE AS DIFFERENT AS THE TWO PARTS I WRITE,
I LONG FOR YOU ALL DAY, AND (DREAM OF YOU) ALL NIGHT.
MAYBE NOT NOW, BUT ONE DAY, YOU WILL SEE !
THE DRUGS WERE OUR NIGHTMARE, I'M YOUR FANTASY !

Hey Jim isn't it sad what we do to ourselves, and the fact that the realisation of what we do or did often comes too late,I can relate very well to this (bones in that closet you mentioned).A sad but enlightening read.

    "THE CLOSETS OF MY LIFE"
I love this imagery because it makes you think of your own closet and how cluttered it is. It's hard to find things in closets and I think this is a wonderful root for the reader. Great poem. The all-caps isn't very easy on the eyes would be my only critism.
