What happened to me

What happened to the girl who used to laugh
now all she seems to do is cry
she used to be so full of life
now she wishes she would die

what happened to the girl who used to write
poems of love and happiness
now all she does is listen to sad songs
her heart left with nothing but emptiness

what happened to the girl who used to sing
and dance with so much joy
she wanted love and affection
he played with her like a toy

what happened to the girl who used to live free
with no worries but her own
now she has to raise a family
into a woman she has grown

a woman who's been hurt time and time again
by a man who said he loved her so
her nightmare became reality
when he said he had to go

if she could only find that girl inside her
and tell her that it's OK
to get out the bed and live again
and don't let time slip away

tell her she's n not alone
tell her she has a friend
that for her this is the beginning
though she feels this is the end

I'm standing in the mirror
who is this woman i see?
