Old Love Found Again

by Brittany C   Jun 23, 2008

As I sit here thinking about the past.
I find that my thoughts always shift to him.
It always makes me smile just thinking of that boy.
Friends from the start I stuck by his side.

I fell in love you but we were to young to know.
We tried things out a couple of times
but things just didn't work out for us back then.
He broke my heart once upon a time; I forgave him.

Staying by his side I pushed him through school.
He just hated it and didn't see the point.
I gave him hugs when I would see him.
Sometimes that was pure torture for me.

Then he moved never taking the time to say goodbye.
But then we found each other again though miles apart.
He admits that he loves me and he always has.
Now I cant wait till he holds me in his arms once more.

3/5. It's just that this seemed like so much more of a short story with sentences separated by line breaks. Although you certainly told a story, it didn't feel like a poetic or a particularly special telling; you just kind of said what happened, in plain language, with plain syntax. Perhaps you could rework it using some more interesting techniques.

I'd appreciate comments on "Calling" and "Wakeful". Thanks in advance.

I agree very much with soso.
It was quite captivating, I enjoyed it greatly.
the concept that love never dies, and sometimes it's right infront of you without you knowing it, or even that maybe it just wasn't your time to find it, is rather intriguing and oddly comforting.

    Nicely written,
