    Carriages crash, glass slippers break
    Magic wand spells never last
    Broken heart in disrepair
    With memories of dances past

Magic wand spells never last, this is such a heartbreaking line, so true and yet so painful.

loved the complete poem dear and i am so glad that after such a long break this beautiful poem came up.

Now she waits for Reaper's hand
To lead her to his side
Without her prince she can't go on
    Her soul already died

Your soul is going to live forever...trust me.

all the best and take care

    Cindy,
You have painted an picture of extreme sadness and the heartbreak of the fairytales ending. Sadly enough the story rings so true. You have penned such a wonderful eye opening stanza that attests to that fact with these words.

    Carriages crash, glass slippers break
    Magic wand spells never last
    Broken heart in disrepair
    With memories of dances past

^^ This stanza was amazing, it brings to reality that life doesn't always end in fairytales even if it began that way

This stanza left me so saddened. I know your thoughts behind this and can never comprehend the pain that has inspired this.

Now she waits for Reaper's hand
To lead her to his side
Without her prince she can't go on
    Her soul already died

My love is with you and know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers.

    Love ya,
    Kay

All in all a wonderful, meaningful poem.......fairytales are just make believe, but even with truth, nothing ever last at all........the tricks life plays...........really loved the last stanza, but the last line says it all........."her soul already died"............really can feel the agony of the whole poem here..to be alive and yet dead....makes me think which is worst......death or living death

This what I call a true story.. There's no happily ever afters.. It's all lies we tell ourselves to prevent from collapsing into this cruel world of ours. Anyway it's a beautiful poem, well written & beautifully penned 5/5

    Cindy,

It has come a full circle now, because the first poem I commented to was about this subject too, if I remember correctly.
You are very fortunate to have known real love, it is not given to every person in this life to have such.
Your poems are all very beautiful, though sad. But there is great beauty in sadness also.
Your soul is not dead, nor will it ever die.
You will dismiss of your body , when the time has come to do so, but souls live on endlessly. So have courage, one day you and your beloved husband will meet again and then you will be together for all eternity.
Thank you for all the kindness you have shown me. There is a time and a place for everything and so this is the last time I adress myself to you, my beloved angel.
I have loved you from the day we met and will continue to do so, even after this life is over.
Go with God, I will pray He will give you what it is you desire most.

    Love always,

    Ingrid

    "Dreamed of fairytale promises
Her fantasy not meant to stay
Death came knocking, cloaked in black
    Carrying her true love away"

^The way you worded this, was amazing! Beautiful flow and your words are so true and sad, this was very heartbreaking.....

    "Carriages crash, glass slippers break
    Magic wand spells never last
    Broken heart in disrepair
    With memories of dances past"

^My favorite stanza, the vivid imagery you have placed here is incredible! There is so much feeling of sadness going on here, great descriptions and flow.....

"Now she waits for Reaper's hand
To lead her to his side
Without her prince she can't go on
    Her soul already died"

^Wonderful ending, but so painfully sad.....
But this was a great write, filled with so much feeling, emotion, and sadness. Good work! Keep writing, always and forever!

A beautiful poem, I could feel your loss and your desire to join your true love. Sometimes expressing those feelings in words is a hard thing to do. You did it eloquently. Bravo
