Irony of Achievement

by david kessel   Jun 26, 2008

Everything in life requires
A long long time to achieve-
Dealing with liars, burning tires,
Finding buyers,
Continuing to believe,
Setbacks galore,
Rebound and roar.
Rebuild from scratch again.
Stand up and attain
The goal.
Grind your teeth, gnaw like a mole,
And, after a tiresome war,
You get what you want,
Go ahead and flaunt,
Except that you want it no more.
