3 Strikes Your Out

by d4tGurL   May 31, 2004

Stereo is pumping, drowning my cries
If only the music, could dry my eyes
~
I’ve been sitting here for hours
Weeping away
Thinking bout the tragedy
That happened here today
~
I hurt you once, you understood
It took a while to bring back the good
I hurt you twice, the pain remains
Selfishly wanting something to gain
I hurt you once more, three strikes your out
Leaving no reason for me to pout
~
The way I’m designed,
I try to prevent tears
But cries and shouts of hurt,
Are all I can hear
Protecting the weak, is harder then it seems
The outcome of all, is hardly what it means
I tried to protect you, from getting hurt by me
But prolonging the inevitable would soon cease to be
~
I hurt you once, you hurt me too
Evenly hurt, we made it through
I hurt you twice, I felt the pain
Suffering slowly, tears in vain
We hurt each other, a third time
The end of us, a final rhyme.
