The Only One I Love

by Alice   Jun 28, 2008

Clutching several letters in my hand
Staring out of the misty window
Looking at the steady rain, I stand;
I wonder if there will be a rainbow

I think about everything we shared
I reminisce about the days of bliss
I remember all the good times we had
And how we almost shared a kiss

Know that no matter how I try to deny
Regardless of all that I've said
No matter how often I tell myself lies
There is one fact that will not fade

You are the only one that I love
And the only guy that matters to me
It's as if you were sent from above
To start a chapter of my fairytale-to-be

Somehow, despite the way things are
Despite how they had turned out
I'd still wish upon a wishing star
And try to clear up every doubt

Although we haven't talked lately
It doesn't have to be that way forever
And although I am filled with worry
I still have faith; we can talk it over

At times, I'd wonder why I was willing
To go through everything just for you
Why I never once gave up trying
And just went to find another beau

The reason is really very simple
And can explain why I stayed true
The reason why I remained loyal
Is because I'm in love with just you

There's no denying the fact
And there's no denying the truth
I just hope you still love me back-
It was nice when things were smooth

Now, as I contemplate all these
I pray that you and I will reconcile,
Revert to when we'd write and tease
For it has been a really long while

Clutching several letters in my hand
Staring out of the misty window
Looking at the steady rain, I stand;
I wonder if there will be a rainbow.
