My Lesson

by CareBear   Jun 29, 2008

I'm learning slowly that
You are my only addiction
The sweetest drug I've ever tasted
The only lie I'd want to live

Weeks on end without your face
Find me laying in such distaste
Though you're perfection returns
As soon as you are near once more

Watching you sleep in my fast embrace
They say "this is such a waste,
Girl you could do so much better
Than that boy you've been seeing!"

But do they ever see the way you are,
When you're there holding me?
And could they ever understand the feeling
You've got me feeling now?

It's true they see the way you treat me
When you're far from your best
But they have no idea of the way you are
When you're far from your worst

Everything I could have ever wished for
Yet so far from having every part
Could I tell you, you're becoming my life?
Trying to so hard not to let you have me completely

Yet failing so miserably
You've got my head spinning
Withdrawal taking its toll
I need you here with me, right by my side

It seems to me that you've opened up in this poem. That you've expressedyour feelings and said things that you cant confront and say out loud.
    Very strong and emotive-
    well done.
