Missing girl cried Sanctuary

by WaitAutumn   Jun 29, 2008

Under her tree she waits
lying against a tepid chest
wrapped in it's arms
protected from whatever fate

It's roots uphold her past
absorbing her melancholy
endeavour to keep her breathing
any second could be her last

It's leaves wipe away her tears
embracing her to a mellifluous dream
until it starts to mourn, may it be
they share the same fears

Morning shadows crawl from behind
the young girl wakes in a jolt
Men are slaying her beloved tree
getting in the way, "Sanctuary" she cried

Nothing to be done
she is but a missing child
watching her tree begin to die
as the leaves crumple one by one

Nightfall chases away their foe
speechless, letting her sorrow fall
feeling it's heartbeat fading
lying beside to follow

-never believed in forever-
