Coldness in your eyes

by Carol Chambers   Jun 1, 2004

As I turn out the lights
Climb slowly into bed
Your words come out of nowhere
Echoing softly in my head
The pain rips through me
Torturing my heart once more
Remembering the coldness in your eyes
As you walked out the door.
I cry myself to sleep at night
Wishing I could hold you tight
Pretending I'm not here alone.
Thinking of your smile so bright..
Seeing your face in candlelight..
Praying I could just come back home...
As the sun breaks thought the sky..
I realized our love was but a lie..
Yet it doesn't stop the pain
That tears my soul apart..
I'm meant to be alone...
Just another broken heart.
