In The Rain

There is a girl
Amazing in so many ways
There isn't a thing I wouldn't give
To see even a small glimpse of her smile

I love her
But I questioned her love
After all she never spoke good of love
And it made me wonder if her words were false

Now I see hell
And see where she's been
I see the mental beating she's taken
And smile knowing she's still fighting

I look down
And I raise her chin
As the rain pours around us
And I kiss her on the lips as we get soaked

Yes she's still sad
So I wrap around her
Keeping her warm and safe
Using myself as a shield from the pain

She's still sad
But that will change
Things are only sad when I let them
And I don't plan on letting her stay sad

Sorrow vs. happiness
Sorrow never can win here
As long as I can hold her in my arms
And let her know that no matter what I'll be here

Forever and always
I'll be here for my angel
I'll never let her drift away from me
I'll never let her decay in an ocean of depression
