We keep our promises still

by risse concepcion   Jul 1, 2008

I knew you'd soon be gone
I prayed for you night and day
But I knew it wouldn't be long
Before all the pain
would soon be over
I wouldn't see your smile again
just look outside and see the pouring rain
the darkest hour I felt
was when your life was done
You didn't deserve any of this
You knew that you would be sorely missed
But atleast you no longer felt pain
You were at peace at last
You swore you'd never leave us all
You said so much in the past
You were mourned for so long
But it was time to leave you alone
for you were going to join
another place, another time
and leave us all behind
Tears poured down our cheecks
as they lowered you into the ground
We said our said farewells
As nobody made a sound
I can still hear your voice
You said you'd always care
You said we all were like one
big family
that you'd alway's be there
and when you were buried
the sun shown down on you
and somehow I felt okay
knew I'd see another day
and as I looked up to the sky
I believe in heaven
I knew you'd be watching us see
even thought you wasn't with me
I see things still
that remind us of you
and then I feel content
knowing that you still there
You've kept youtr promises
cause you are still around
even thought no one can see
or hear you
I know without you making a sound
and this is what get's me through
the day's
this is what see's me through
and I am proud to have known you
and I swear I'll never forget
you.
