Duct Tape

Don't make me promises you cannot keep
Don't keep me awake with the lies that you speak
Stop telling everyone that you really love me
Your lies are plain as day to see
Don't worry about what's not okay
It's none of your business, needless to say
Don't ask me why I cry these tears
As if they were, perhaps, your greatest fear
You caused them all and know it well
There is no story left to tell
Don't pretend I'm not broken so you can be whole
You've broken my heart and shattered my soul
And here I am lying alone on the floor
I have no idea what I needed you for
Don't try to help me you've done your great deep
There's nothing more from you I need
I'll use some DUCT TAPE and maybe some glue
And fix my heart up good as new
I'll run away somewhere and hide
Some place that you won't think to hide...

This poem is for my ex boyfriend who would have been a stalker if he had his license and knew where I lived...

    Great poem, really expresses where u are in your life right now and i felt that i was u for that moment. some peoples perception of love is a selfish yet creative way to manipulate and control lives that aren't there own because they have no ways of controling themselves. its not your fault that people act the way they do, the only one u can change is you (yeah that rhymed and i didnt even think about it lol). but your experiences and your way of expressing it through peotry is one of the greatest gifts because now you know, so now u can avoid situations. or, in the event that you become close to another guy like this, you can deal with it in the best way you know how. with amazing poetry. great job. check out my stuff and comment sometime? i'd appreciate it.
