Look at Me

I think you see me
But you look straight through
Past what you want to ignore
Past what is really me

I can't be like him or her
I can only be me
And if you say you love me
You have to love the things you look past too

I just don't think that I'm good enough
That I'm as special or as worthy as them
If I was like him would you care?
If I was as pretty as her would you love me?

For now I'll sit and wait
For you to look at me
And really see ME
Not what you want or wish me to be

**I know the rythm and length of the lines are off. this was just a venting poem. not reallly showing my writting skills.

    You are better than that. Look into your heart...and know the real tara. You don't have to prove that to anyone but yourself.
