Crickets seranade

by andhereIstand   Jul 2, 2008

Sitting on the rooftop
sneaking a smoke
little shorts
leave my legs victim
to the cool summers nights breeze
stars in the sky
light up the night
like just after dusk
a coupla fireflies
even dance
to the serenade
of the crickets and trees
thin smoke wisps
lift before me
and the shingled roof
scratches the back of my bare legs
and Im content where I am
to stay stuck in this moment
me a cigarette
and the crickets serenade
