Nightmare Life

by adroit   Jul 3, 2008

Feelings of light
Go fading away as night falls
Nightmares come hunting for blood
Brooding thoughts swirl in the mind
Restless wanderings down a
Dark, dark road
Rude awakenings from pleasant dreams
Falling asleep, I rest my weary head after
Tossing and turning
Only to wake again screaming
From a nightmare intense
But with only the memory of pure terror
Laying awake for hours
Trying to remember what it was about
Then morning light displays the failings of mortality
It all repeats itself
Night falls and day breaks
Again and again and again
Till there's nothing left

Hi Sarah this poem sounds like it was written in a place often visited by many of us, i think what made it more disturbing for me is that it was written by someone so young,i believe that young people should be as happy as possible.I suppose then reality bites.Well written girl
