The mountain

by keithnwv   Jul 6, 2008

I've came upon a mountain
on which I'm trying to climb
to rise above a valley
in which myself i find

wandering thru this valley
of memories, thoughts, and fears
i searched to find an exit
not blocked by floods of tears

its a dark and lonely valley
i feel I'm all alone
sent here as an outcast
by people i have known

they watch from upon the ridge tops
as i struggle to go on
to them it must be like a game
their the players , I'm the pawn

but now back to that mountain
I'm trying to ascend
from here it looks impossible
its so far to find the end

there are footprints on the trail
of ones who've gone before
Lord give me strength to continue on
to the place where eagles soar
