Pitiful Salvation

by Hailey   Jul 7, 2008

Your eyes control me
And your words fill me like morphine
As I devour your empty promises
For you may be oblivious to it
But your touch,
Your presence,
Coveting every moment
For it is my vitality to this cruel world
And you are my salvation

But the Masquerade of my true sentiment continues
While the melancholy hides
Caused by the dismay of unrequited love
Consciously unconscious of my misery

Collapsing in the arms of failure
Drained of hope and optimism
Intoxicated with self pity
As I walk the line of the disappointed
My vacant body throbs
As it’s intravenously revealed
Filled with a painful sensation
That surges through the emptiness

Unheard, like the cries of my heart
That suffocates in the depths of my tears
Crying for deliverance
From my own atonement
