Too Much

by davis mpando   Jun 2, 2004

When I gave all my love to you,
You said it was too much.
I thought back and withdrew,
You said I became too hot to touch.

When you were all alone,
You said I was too close…
When I came to keep you company.
And I again took the dose.

When your nights were cold,
I came in and gave you my sun.
‘Oh! It’s burning hot!’ You said.
And you preferred a chilling moon.

When tears filled your eyes,
You said my chest was stone hard,
When I came and took you in my arms,
And you preferred to sit on a bare board.

When I whispered and said ‘I love you’,
You didn’t like it and you blushed.
You said I sounded like a fool,
When I said again aloud.

When I do nothing now,
You say am irresponsible.
I have had too much gal,
And it’s my time to win the gamble.
