Lessons to be learned

If I look in the mirror I know what I would see
Empty eyes
A hollow smile
Every thing you want me to be

A perfect picture
Can you tell me it isn't me?

I am lost somewhere inside my mind
Where the voices never stop
I hear a ringing of a clock
And I know its time to start
Another day of make believe where we all play pretend

And if I try to run away
I'll get pulled back by these invisible chains
From you I cant escape
My freedom is a lie

And I can never get away
So I sit here and I cry
Crimson tears
From my arms to my thighs

A little bit of make up
And we can hide are scars
A little bit of cover up
And you can be a star

With a piece of rugged glass
I cut my self a new
A pain that I control
So I'll keep you my little secret
Inside my bottom drawer
And I'll try not to cry when the leather of the belt meets my skin
Thwack
And when you kick me in the head I'll laugh like its a joke

And when I am all alone just me and the voices in my head I'll cry

Didn't they tell you to be a good girl
