I Wish

I wish I could tell him
The way I feel
I wish he could see
The emotions I intentionally conceal

Would he laugh ?
Or scorn what I say?
Would he go silent
And walk away?

I wish he would call
Just to hear my voice
I wish he would visit
As his own choice

Would he smile?
Or call my name?
Would his arms open
And mine do the same?

I wish he read this
By plain fate
I wish he could see
God made him my mate

Would he care?
Or question the thought?
Would he understand
It is his heart that I sought?

I wish he forgot
My very being
I wish he would hurt me
And be demeaning

Would he leave?
Or revel in my pain?
Would he drive me crazy
And make me insane?

I wish so much
That things could just be
But my only wish
Is that he would wish for me
