Defy the Norms

by Hillary Herbert   Jul 14, 2008

A sense of discomfort.
Your space invaded.
I talk to you,
But you won't be persuaded.
There's nothing wrong
With standing so close,
Or offering you a bite
Of my half eaten toast.
I see you don't know me,
But lets hold hands.
We can share chewed gum,
And fluffy hair bands.
I like to stare deeply
Into your eyes,
And wink at you quickly
As you get shocked or surprised.
I talk to you loudly
While in the bathroom stall,
And yell out your name
As you walk down the hall.
