Sura al-Fatiha, the Opener in haiku form

by Goodbye   Jul 15, 2008

In the name of God
Merciful, Compassionate
Praise be to Allah

the Lord of mankind
Master of the Judgement Day
Thee do we worship

Thee we turn for help
Please guide us in the straight path
of those Thou art gracious

Not in path of those
with whom Thou art angered
or who go astray

********************************************
NOTE: I tried to edit Sura al-Fatiha in the haiku form. This original Opener you can look up from Quran if you are interested. I just remembered this sura when I was thinking to write a new haiku...And I tried if it fit and it fit well. I only had to edit a bit. This translation is from book, author is Jeffrey and the name of the book is THE KORAN: Selected Suras.

I don't know whatever I succeeded or not to write it in haiku form. I just submit it from the love to haikus and Quran.

Well... I'm neither a big fan of Haiku nor I follow old style of writing much. I mean those 'thee and thou' stuff. But all I can say This poem has a special meaning. Praise for Almighty. Very good lines that have written in a good serene note. Very good poem. Indeed.
